From Yarmouth’s rich history has grown a Cape Cod seaside community that offers a variety of activities for both area vacationers and year-rounders (wash-a-shores). Yarmouth boasts 15 of Cape Cod’s finest fresh and saltwater beaches, several golf courses challenging all levels, many tennis courts, plus many hiking and conservation trails. Yarmouth, Cape Cod truly has something for everyone.
Yarmouth, boasting over 350 years of history, is a community shaped by its seaside heritage. Yarmouth has retained much of its historic charm while integrating the present into its surroundings. To gain a true perspective of our town of Yarmouth, you must stray from the major roadways of Route 6, Route 28, and Route 6A that connect Yarmouth to neighboring Barnstable to the West and Dennis to the East.
Yarmouth consists of three main villages that make up the 17 square mile town we call home – Yarmouth, Cape Cod. The main villages are West Yarmouth, Yarmouth Port, and South Yarmouth. Each village is made up of sections with their own, distinct character. In South Yarmouth, there is the Village of Bass River which follows the river down to the Yarmouth’s beaches on Nantucket Sound. In West Yarmouth you will find the seaside communities of Great Island and Hyannis Park. Historic Yarmouth Port hugs the northern shore on Cape Cod Bay.
